In 2016 our production area reached 46,000 m2 and our turnover exceeded 170 million euros, with 350 employees. This recent growth has been underpinned by a significant investment plan, which aims to acquire new technologies and improve the systems currently in place. Balocco also cares about green energy: more than a third of the company’s energy needs are met by one of the biggest photovoltaic roof systems in Piedmont, helping reduce CO2 emissions.
Over the coming years, this plan aims to write a new chapter in Balocco’s development.
Balocco is special because it is a family business. The people behind the company are driven by a passion they inherited for confectionery, and expertise and family traditions are handed down through the generations. Following in the footsteps of Francesco Antonio and Aldo Balocco, Alessandra and Alberto are now further developing the company, with a true ‘history of excellence’ to rely on. We love our confectionery roots and traditional recipes so much that the Balocco brand now represents Italian quality in 67 countries (Europe, Northern, Central and South America, Middle East, South-East Asia, China, Oceania and Africa). 50% of sales come from within the European Union. In 2016 the company’s strong commitment mixed with inexhaustibly creative and passionate employees translated into an export turnover of more than 21 million euros.
